A Cleansing Breath
You breathe automatically, and yet sometimes you forget. Have you ever found yourself experiencing a tense moment, and realized you were not breathing? Most people do not even fully expand their lungs with each intake of air. Go ahead and take a deep breath, and exhale. Notice the difference.
Breathing properly is essential to healthy living. There are simple ways to cleanse your energy by focusing you breathing on certain aspects of your body, mind, and soul.
You should intake air steadily through your nose only. Pull the air into your lungs and expand your ribcage. Let it also move into your tummy.
Hold for a few seconds. I often hold my breath for ten seconds.
Then exhale steadily through your mouth. I usually make a sound as the air leaves my body.
Repeat this breathing exercise until you become comfortable with it.
Take it to the Next Level
When breathing in through your nose, imagine you are gently pulling in positive energy. You might imagine a glowing white light surrounding you, flowing into your body, encapsulating every cell.
Hold it there with your breath.
As you exhale, let all of your negative thoughts and energy flow out of you with the air that leaves your body. Things might come to mind that you were not fully aware of. Let it all leave you, the faces of people who have caused you pain, perhaps an unpleasant event that happened at work, jealousy, grief—anything that leads to the spiral of negativity.
Repeat this breathing exercise until you feel calm and relaxed.
This is Meditation in its simplest form.
