My Strange Personal Prayer

Date January 28, 2008

In college, I had a message board on my door.  I found a picture today that I took of my message board.  One day, I reacted to the religious hypocrisy of one of the people I lived with, which resulted in the following combination of words being written on my board.  I found it to be intriguing that those words didn’t really stick with me since the time that I wrote them.  They make just as much sense now as they did then.  I was unable to live the meaning of my words fully until recently though.  I suppose you don’t truly know things until you keep the knowledge at the forefront of your every day life.  Awareness is key to turning negativity into something positive.

“My Creed”

“Thou shall not be an angry ball of fury

Thou shall not take out frustration on innocent people

Thou shall not be a religious hypocrite

Glory Be to Reality, Honesty, and Truth

Know the power and influence of your thoughts

To truly find love, one must give it

To truly heal, one must trust the self

Be within, not without”
