Binghamton has a new bookstore down Court Street called RiverRead Books

I learned about this bookstore from a local paper that targets women. Don’t guys like to read books too? The business happens to be owned by three women and they have done a fantastic job.
RiverRead Books is a wonderful addition to downtown Binghamton. I visited the store with my sister and boyfriend this past Friday, which happened to be First Friday. There was music, wine, food, and there were many people wondering about and purchasing books. I am going to a Christmas Tea today and everyone who attends will be donating books to children in need. I chose to buy Corduroy, one of my childhood favorites. The book also happened to be on sale at 20% off. The women who own the bookstore rang me out and they were very friendly. I admire what they have accomplished. The bookstore is a small space, but has a lot of variety in terms of selection. I imagine I will be returning to browse or shop for other people.
On our way out of the store, my boyfriend picked up a book called Stuff White People Like. We read several pages and could not contain our laughter. It is so obviously politically incorrect, yet so true. I loved it. I believe the number one item was Coffee. I propose that #118 be Local Bookstores!!! It’s true… right?
