Keep On
February 15, 2009
Awake at night, thinking.
Meditating to stop.
Trying to remain present in life.
So much to do, so little time.
When I thought of winter, (the never-ending months of January, February, and March), I believed I would have sprawling, uneventful weekends of nothingness I could fill with completely personal, self serving obligations. Alas, every weekend is full into April. This is wonderful. Plans to see family and friends abound. However, free time, though I undoubtedly have larger blocks of it thanks to four day work weeks, is going missing all too often.
Perhaps a stricter schedule will help. My normal schedule has been jostled a bit. My yoga teacher moved her business to the middle of nowhere, also known as East Bumblefu*k. For some reason, going to a new place is still not happening for me. I just have to let it go. Things change all the time.
I am currently cleaning up my desk, in an effort to cleanse the energy of the small space I happen to occupy more often than my blog lets on. I found a little yellow post-it note.
It reads:
“the pain of forfeiting
is worse than losing
fair and square”
It moved me. I believe it’s a timeless grouping of words. I don’t remember when I wrote it.
No matter what obstacles and problems you may be facing, don’t give up.
